After receiving FDA approval for cosmetic use in 2002, BOTOX® Cosmetic has been booming in popularity. Available at our Glastonbury office serving Glastonbury, Hartford, and the New Haven, Connecticut area, BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple and affordable way to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and lines. BOTOX® injections work by paralyzing the muscles surrounding your wrinkles, which allows the lines to relax and smooth away. BOTOX® injections are most commonly used to treat wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes and mouth. Although BOTOX® injections are not permanent – they usually last three to four months – they can be repeated at our office serving the New Haven , Connecticut area . After receiving BOTOX ® injections, most patients report little pain and no significant recovery time. Although the results are less dramatic than with a facelift, BOTOX® injections are fast, easy, and can make your skin look younger and smoother. Please contact our office serving Glastonbury, Hartford, and the New Haven, Connecticut area for more BOTOX® Cosmetic information.
Collagen injections, available at our office in Connecticut, help make skin look younger and smoother by filling in wrinkles and scars. Collagen is a protein found naturally in the skin that helps maintain its elasticity. Collagen levels decrease with age. By replacing collagen in the skin, your appearance can be improved. Like BOTOX® Cosmetic, collagen injections are not permanent. Fortunately, the treatment can be repeated when its effects begin to wear off (usually in three to six months). It is recommended that you undergo an allergy test before receiving collagen injections to be sure you are not sensitive to the material. Most patients report high levels of satisfaction with the outcome of their collagen injections. To learn more about collagen, please contact The Plastic Surgery Center today!
Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.
Restylane is the first cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is a crystal-clear gel called NASHA, or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. NASHA is biodegradable and completely biocompatible with human nyaluronic acid.
Although slightly more expensive than collagen, Restylane usually lasts twice as long as collagen or 6 to 12 months.
